“Given the current Brent and West Texas Intermediate prices of $66 a barrel and $61 a barrel, respectively, and a cautious outlook, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and allied nations have paused unwinding supply cuts through March and, second, many non-OPEC producers, such as U.S. shale oil, are deferring development, which could eventually help improve the global balance between crude oil supply and supporting prices,” said Andrew O’Conor, senior vice president for energy and natural resources ratings at Morningstar, told the Reporter-Telegram.
